And just like that.... January is half over.

Hi all!  It's January 14th, 2024.  One month today is Valentine's Day! This is the time of year that I spend alot of time planning and bouncing around ideas about what I would like to do, make and create.  For those who don't know me that well, I do really like to creatively bake.  So this week, while feeling the snowy Christmasy vibes on the island, I made up some gingerbread cookies and then had fun decorating them.  I will be using what I learnt making these to make some bath bombs this week in a heart shape and see...

I'm back and planning!

Hello friends!  It's been awhile but the hectic Christmas season is over and it's time to start anew on another year.  Boy, 2023 was exciting, wasn't it?  A BIG move, new equipment, new designs, new markets and a whole lotta NEW!  It was alot so I've just been using the last couple of weeks to decompress and sort through what I liked, what I was a huge fan of and then decide what to discard for 2024, all while factoring in what my goals are. That means that I've got alot of work ahead of me but I am more than willing and happy to do it.  So as I sit here blogging and sipping my hot cocoa (the Sea Salt Caramel version) with marshmallows on top, I am plotting out my production...

Why aren't you doing the Vancouver Christmas Market?

This week I am addressing the elephant in the room.  It's the question of why am I not doing the Vancouver Christmas Market?!? Just like the majority of people, I do not want to go back to 2019 levels of working 7 days a week, 363 days a year (Christmas and New Years were always off).  It was crazy!  The Vancouver Christmas Market alone was 5 weeks then (I believe now it is 6 weeks) with some days being 12-14 hour days in the cold, huddled by woefully inadequate heaters. The expense of renting a place to stay close to...
